Sunshine Day-ee-ay (and Night)
Liam had a rough time this morning when I dropped him off at school. I hate to leave him when he acts sad. It always makes me wonder if I’m doing the right thing. I guess if he was having a rough time all day I’d be more worried about it, but I know he does fine once I’m out of sight, and I NEED my mornings with just one kid. I don’t have the slightest idea how people home school. I love the kid with all my heart, but he would make me insane.
Since we were out and it was a nice day, (Two in a ROW!!) I took some stuff that I needed to get back to Liam’s old school and had a good chat with the teachers. It sounds like they are all being bullied to leave. It’s not a good situation. I feel terrible for them.
I had grand plans to take Elena to the park, but that went by the wayside. I was just too tired…and she really enjoys being home alone without Liam. She plays so well by herself!
We went to get Liam and he told me he had a “great day” when I picked him up. Evidently the teacher got out some of his favorite things. He’s a sucker for play-dough, that one.
Unfortunately his good mood didn’t continue through nap time. He was in a screaming mood. I was exhausted, so I tried to take a nap, but it’s rather difficult to sleep when the door to your room is less than three feet from the door to your screaming son’s room. It’s just not conducive to restorative sleep.
He did finally scream himself to sleep at 2.30, at which point I called my mom to complain and while got everything ready so that we could go to the park after nap with Daria, who he clearly adores, as is demonstrated by this terrible, horrible, very bad picture taken with my post-drowning blackberry.
And this one which I tried to spruce up a bit, to no avail.7
The kids played in the sand pit and got completely disgusting. Then Liam got sand in his eye and I had to dump water in it in the middle of the swarming playground with him screaming (again) for all the world to hear.
We played outside of the sandpit for the rest of the evening.
We didn’t get home until almost 7.30, because Yoti had to nurse Yotam, and Daria and Liam were playing so well together. Elena, of course, sat on the bench next to Yoti and hoarded pretzels, so she’s easy to keep track of.
The kids were tired, and so was I, so we all went to bed shortly after we flaked all of the sand off of them and into the tub. It was pretty nasty.
The kids went to sleep and I lay here for an hour before taking these pics at 9.45. Again the quality sucks (blackberry) but it shows you how light it is at quarter to 10 at night
and quarter to 5 in the morning. (no flash)
Shut up. I was tired.
