The whole day was a zoo.
Today was BIIIZZZEH.
We got up this morning and went to the zoo for Aaron’s firm day at the zoo. We didn’t see any fun animals. We totally went the wrong way. We did see the koalas though. They’re visiting from San Diego. There was a HUGE line so we waited and made L be patient. Thank goodness we had the stroller. There’s no way either of us could have kept the peace if he’d been out walking around.
The koalas were the most anticlimactic experience I’ve had in quite some time; they were both sleeping.
Aw, whatever. AJ had 35 zoo bucks and he figured out that they give cash back. We got lunch
and A spent the remainder of our time there trying to figure out how to buy as little as possible to get the most cash back. We came home with an extra $10.
This is why I love him.
After nearly three hours of walking in the heat, we were all ready to come home. I wanted to get some work done around the house before Michelle and Wade’s virtual baby shower at 4. And, my pal, Debb, from Indy made a quick stop on her way to the airport. She played with the kids while I got everything ready for the shower. I had time for a hug and that was about it!
Actually, there wasn’t much to do for the virtual part of it. I’d already put up trivia, a game and a request for ass/advice, and I had the chat room ready. However since Christy, Neal, and Ang were going to come over for the event (bringing their laptops with them, of course) I had to clean up the house.
But, Olivia was sleeping, so N&A ended up tuning in from home.
Christy came over and the rest of the crew met us online. Mich opened gifts, took pics, and posted them so that we could see her utter joy. We also took pics of ourselves eating the cookies.
Oh, the cookies.

(The Montgomery’s tubules were Neal’s idea.)
After about two hours, people went offline, but C, A, and I stayed online and just did our own thing for a few hours. It reminded me of being in college and having roommates around while studying – I didn’t have to talk to them, but they were there if I wanted to.
Yeah, I know…I have L and E here all the time. Somehow it’s just not the same.
Finally, I’m really trying to get back on track as far as my eating is concerned. I’ve been such a mess since the London stuff got serious a few months ago and of course I’ve been eating every chance I get. The LAST thing I want to do is get over there and be the fat American. I’ll stick out enough as it is.
I’ll be the one trying to order deli meat by the pound.
