Winter Storm Warning

Filed under: Aaron, Elena, Friends, Liam, Mommyhood, Murphy & Macey, Suburbia — Heidi at 11:09 pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2006

Well the weatherpeople were all wrong again.  We didn’t get snow, but we did get ice.

Jen, Jules, and Ethan came over this morning and stayed until the storm got started, around two.  It didn’t really take them longer than normal to get home, but by four there were problems.

It took AJ 1.5 hours to get home from work.

Our power was out for about an hour.

L adored the candles, but I was a little concerned about how we were going to keep warm.

When AJ got here, he suggested starting the GAS fireplace.

I am so dumb sometimes.

I was devising ways to use our body heat for the six of us to stay warm in one bed when the electricity came back on.

As soon as I set the clocks in the kitchen, it went off again for a few seconds.

Of course.

As far as the day goes otherwise

  • Jules and L were in time out at the same time for not sharing.
  • L’s new favorite thing to scream when he’s in time out is “WAANT TO CALM DOOWWN.”
  • E has a bit of a fever.
  • I am tired because I stay up too late.
  • Today is my mama’s birthday.  She’s 57, which kind of freaks me out.  I’ve never thought of someone in their 50s as being old, but at 60 it seems sort of undeniable.  Guh.
  • The fact that my mom is 57 means that I am getting old. Ugh.

WOW! Your mom looks FABULOUS-O at 57! You’ll age just as gracefully, I’m sure! Isn’t 57 the new 47 though, anyway?
