Life (In London), Medicated

An Unintentional Experiment

Filed under: BackBlogging, Elena, Mommyhood — Heidi at 5:42 pm on Thursday, August 31, 2006

I had a waffle with maple syrup and an egg this morning for breakfast.

Normally this wouldn’t be a problem. However, I neglected to check the ingredients on the package. I know…stupid. I don’t know why I didn’t look, I’ve been so good about it. I was just thinking about the whole grain aspect and that has tested ok, so I thought, “Mmmm…whole grain waffle. (Something NOT rice.).” I never considered the other ingredients.

So, this afternoon Elena was acting weird. She just didn’t know what she wanted and she was acting like her stomach hurt. I was nursing her and trying to figure out what I’d eaten and it struck me that perhaps the waffle wasn’t such a great idea.

I checked the ingredients and lo and behold, there is milk in the waffles.

Bastard waffle people.

Our First Outing

We managed to get out of the house at a decent time this morning and headed over to play with Jules and Ethan.  It felt great to get out, and I proved to myself that I can do it with two…I just have to start getting ready to go an hour before we have to leave.

In other news…

Less than a week after Elena arrived, we bought a new car for Aaron to drive. He was looking for something that said “Successful Attorney With A Family” and “Gangstah” at the same time. I think he succeeded.

Meet the newest addition to our family, the Chrysler 300 - to be known from this point forward as Da 300.

Now, we’re doing a little aftermarket work on it. AJ is getting a different grille - we decided which one during the easy part of labor, and he is getting some stickers to place over the terrible, gold Chrysler logo. Both necessities, I know.

Originally we were trying to figure out a way to keep the Jeep

and buy this car in addition. But, since the Silver Brick was having some medical issues that four different auto places couldn’t figure out, we decided to let him go. AJ got a great price at one place and took it to the Chrysler dealer, who matched it, so we traded in.

And, just because we’re talking about cars, I can’t leave Taxi out.

AJ took her to the car wash and cleaned her all up. He even vacuumed the inside. And just look at those shiny wheels and tires.

I have missed the old girl and am glad to have her back (although I have to disassemble the double stroller a bit to make it fit) and I know that AJ is going to enjoy the new “old man” sedan - he can fit his bike in the trunk…what’s not to love?

Peaceful

More pics soon, I promise.  It’s taking awhile to go through them.

I have jugs - not gallon, but definitely pint.

My milk came in in full force this morning.  I noticed a change in it late Sun., and E was much more content yesterday, but man, I am a full-on milk machine today.

Oh yeah go ahead, hook me up to one of those dairy cow pumps and I’ll whoop their udders.
(I guess this explains the whoremoney day yesterday.  Sorry about that, everyone.)
