Doggie Love
It’s become pretty clear lately that L and Macey share a symbiotic relationship. The two of them adore one another.
However, L has been pushing the limits with both Murphy and Macey and some of his attempts at love - pulling skin, using feet to “pet”, and running after them screaming - are taking a toll. L spends a lot of time in the Thinking Chair following these episodes. And it is not pleasant Thinking Chair time - there’s a lot of yelling. Murph taunts him by sneaking around the corner to chew on his toy in plain view. L doesn’t like to be kicked while he’s down.
So, in an attempt to keep everyone chilled out and give the dogs a bit of a reprieve today, I herded them onto the stairs and put up a gate so that L couldn’t get to them. L saw it coming and started to cry and after the gate went up, he gave it a good shake in an attempt to egg on Murphy, who was grinning from the third stair - just out of his reach.
When L finally realized it was all over, he stomped his feet, clenched his fists and jaw, looked at me very seriously and angrily whined, “LEAVE THE DOGS A-LOh-Oh-Oh-Oh-Ohhhhh-NE, LIAM.”
I had to walk into the other room to laugh.
