Trivial Pursuit: Jesper Parnevik
Had Aaron’s sis and cousins (and spouses, where applicable) over for a Trivial Pursuit tournament.
First round, the teams shaped up as such.
We played Mennonite stylee with girls against girls
and boys against boys.
The competition between the girls was a tad bit different than between the boys. I wasn’t actually playing, so I was fortunate to hear all of the banter.
The girls were all trying to help one another and laughing. I was a floater so I was “helping” both teams. However, the guys were engaged in a serious competitive sport. (Aaron and Elias do not take TP lightly.) I believe that A and E got something like five pie pieces in one turn. (A was proud because he answered the sports question correctly.) Even Scott and Travis swore they weren’t cheating. (Wait - I don’t think either of those two swears.)
Elias and Aaron won for the boys and Rachel and Chels won for the girls. However, because Aaron and Elias creamed Travis and Scott, R and C decided that we’d all play against them. Even with Travis, Scott, Nicole, and Jen on their team (and an occasional phone-a-friend), R and C still lost. I don’t know if it was because of Elias’ rolling skills, Aaron’s answers (”Yeah…I know that Brandy…does shit. With music.”), or the fact that R thought Bob Dylan was too skinny to be a boxer. Regardless, here’s Elias winning with a sports question.
If you haven’t already figured out, for the majority of the players, the sports questions are the bane of our existence, so the fact that Elias won on sports gave him even more to puff his chest and preen his feathers about.
The question involved a Swedish golfer whose father did something that doesn’t really matter because I can’t remember at the moment. However, it sparked a big discussion after the fact that his nanny married Tiger Woods.
Small world, that Sweden.
