DDOL: From two words to a phrase in less than five days.

Filed under: Aaron, Family, Liam — Heidi at 7:31 am on Sunday, November 27, 2005

Today my Dad taught L to say “Grandpa.” Naturally, it sounds more like “poo-pah,” but he knows what he’s saying. Then when we left the house later on, he said “bye-bye” without any prompting.

Anyway, for the record, I think we’ve reached the “language explosion” stage, so I won’t bore you with the details of every new word every day…even though I melt every single time he says something new…but I will keep you apprised of any “major” developments.

On that note, was putting L in bed and AJ walked out of the room. Out of the blue, L says, “Bye-bye Da-da.”

I am SO the luckiest mom in the blogosphere. He usually waits until AFTER some major appointment to make the great strides. (His speech assessment is Thursday.) Perhaps he won’t have to do the speech therapy after all.

Additionally, while still at my parents’, Heather and Emalee learned the degree to which L loves to accessorize.

This morning, Darby took part in my blogging ritual, and said of Liam’s picture. I love that girl. She is pretty.

Oh my gosh, hooray for language explosion. And what is this talk of not “boring us” with the details of every new word every day? I’m sure i’m not alone in wanting the play by play. from boo-yah to grandpa and beyond.
P.S. I owe you a phone call, and Aaron owes you money. End of December. :)

I owe her nothing. She said the tail end of December, I said the front end. We’re both right.
