Life (In London), Medicated

DDOL: 15 month appt.

Filed under: Liam — Heidi at 11:53 am on Thursday, September 29, 2005

Went to the Dr. this morning. I love him, I really do, but the wait is awful. We were there for an hour and a half. Ugh.

At any rate, L is doing just fine. If he continues on the same growth curve, he’ll be 6 feet by the time he’s 18.

However, we have to get the little babbler making some sense of his words. The Dr. is threatening me with a speech therapist if L isn’t using meaningful words by the time he’s 18 months.

Seriously, if it takes THAT long for him to talk, I am going to need therapy.

good to know he’s doing great! don’t worry about the speech too much….just keep doing what you’re doing….remember, talking is kind of like walking…once they start, they NEVER stop!!

I had speech therapy for years and I turned out okay. Except that I’m mildly insane.

Mildly. That was mildly understated.

My sister’s speech made no sense until she was three. Later the pediatrician realized she was making up her own language and my brother & I understood it completely. Sort of genius don’t you think??? Perhaps Heidi, you just need to learn how to interept Liam speak and he’ll give us the cure to the common cold and the secret to world peace!

He’ll get all of his words straight… and then you’ll look back fondly on these days. ;) Max (4yrs) has a constant, running commentary on life– he narrates everything he does. Madness!
