If it makes you feel any better, which I doubt it will because it is a self-inflicted burn, I burned myself this morning doing something very silly. I was trying to melt the ends of a nylon rope so Oboe could play with it without it unraveling. I saw the rope catch fire... I watched it burn slowly down to where I was holding it... I watched as the melting nylon fibers bent over and came to rest on my finger... and THEN I put out the flame. Dumb, dumb, dumb. So now I have two nylon covered blisters. It's taken two hours of soaking them in cold water while I read the paper and snuggled the pup to get the pain to a manageable level. Oh, the silly things we do.

Been there, done that...and it is horrible! Caitlin was around 2 or so, and I was at a friend's house. I was rinsing macaroni when Caitlin moved the stool, climbed up, and put her hand on the still VERY hot burner. Had to take her to the immediate care center, because it was at least a 2nd degree burn. I felt like such an awful mommy! On the plus side, she's been really wary of stoves ever since and a simple "Don't! That's hot!" is enough to stop her in her tracks. This won't be the last time he does something that was "preventable." You do the best you can.
