Insane Saturday
Had such a looong day yesterday.
Our friends are getting married on Sunday, so we have events this weekend for that and Aaron’s scooter rally is also going on.
Started out that we were going to go to a Fun Run/Walk for the wedding. It was at Loose Park. I’d never been there, but it was an absolutely gorgeous location. Aaron was supposed to go to his scooter rally, but he was going to meet us at Loose before he went so that he could see everyone for a bit at the Run/Walk.
Instead, I get this frantic phone call as I was getting ready to leave that he needed me to hook up the trailer to the Jeep and pick him up. Scoot was DEAD. I managed to get everything switched over to the Jeep. It takes quite a while when one has to move the car seat and all of the child’s necessities from one already loaded car to another. But, we made it and met him at the park. He kept L and I walked and then we loaded up the scoot and took it to the shop and as Liam was sleeping in back. I didn’t think it would be a big deal to sit there while they looked at it. BUT, they woke L up, so I had to read to an unhappy, sleepy child for an hour in the car while they messed around with the scoot. Ugh.
It turned out to be a sad day for AJ. He didn’t get to go to any of the Scooter Games or on the ride or to lunch with his peeps because after all that, it wasn’t an easy fix. And, he forgot that we were supposed to go to his grandpa’s birthday party as well. We ended up being late because Liam was asleep, but we did make it there for a few minutes before we had to go to the Welcome Dinner for the wedding. Liam and Gabe got to play for a bit.

Dinner was great. It was so nice to see all of Aaron’s friends. I do love to go to his friends’ weddings because everyone is so much fun. I don’t have high school friends like he has, and sometimes I wish that I did.
We had everyone over to our house after the dinner - which ended up being something like 11 p.m. We were home by 8.30 and I was frantically trying to do last minute house cleaning. I vacuumed and everything. When everyone finally got here, we had a fantastic time. I was so glad they came. It made me feel like I wasn’t tied to the house with a sleeping child. People stayed until 2 or so and one poor couple had to get a taxi to their hotel. My house is not in a good location to attempt to use public transportation. They eventually made it home. I guess the driver was pretty interesting.
